March 8 Community Meeting Recap

We had a nice turnout for our meeting.  Topics discussed were the current roofing plan and recent policy adoption by the Board to reimburse residents who replace their roof through insurance (or out of pocket) due to damage.

Roofing

See the website –under documents then roof replacement reimbursement policy.  The 2025 roofing plan is progressing well, and we plan to finish all roofs for this year in the next week.

Storm Drains

Storm drains cleaning will start in a few weeks, weather dependent.  Once cleaned and evaluated, the first phase of lining will start in July.  More information to come when we get closer to starting. The storm drain cleaning and lining is projected to be a 3-year plan.

Long Range Plan

The long-range planning committee is working with current vendors to develop a plan for end of life of our amenities. Examples of these amenities include HVAC, pool pumps and fencing, trees, tennis courts, etc.  The committee and Board will work to budget accordingly for care and replacement.

Q&A

We had Q&A and discussions from the attendees on several topics ranging from communication and how to improve, QuickBooks rollout and minor quirks resulting.

We also discussed City of Lenexa programs that affect our community.  I communicated back in theJanuary Clarion Presidents message about the Community Standards Program that the city has in place.

  • The City has adopted the International Property Maintenance Code which does require things like fences, decks, siding, etc. in disrepair to be brought into acceptable condition.  They have an inspector and along with complaints received they follow up with residents to bring subpar homes up to the standards.  You can file a complaint using their online service request systemor calling the City.

  • The City is once again offering an Exterior Grant Program to residents for assistance with various repairs/replacement general home improvements.  See the City’s web site for details and how to apply. Applications are due by April 15th.
